Chris's recent interviews include five-time Olympic medalist Apolo Ohno, "24" exec producer Howard Gordon, TV icon Lynda "Wonder Woman" Carter, actor-turned-fitness book author Mario Lopez, tennis legend Martina Navratilova, "Dancing with the Stars"' and "October Road"'s Stacy Keibler, "Celebrity Fit Club"’s Maureen "Marcia Brady" McCormick, wrestling legend and reality star Hulk Hogan, TV and radio host Leeza Gibbons and eco-savvy carpenter Carter Oosterhouse, star of HGTV's "Carter Can."
The Tulsa, Okla., native and TV tell-all author has also served as a production and creative consultant and interviewee for numerous TV specials and documentaries, and he co-produced and wrote several Joyce DeWitt-hosted John Ritter tribute featurettes for "Three's Company"'s 2004-2005 DVD releases. Chris again interviewed the sitcom's cast and crew members, as well as Ritter's first wife, Nancy Morgan Ritter, for these heartfelt on-screen remembrances.
Since 1997 Chris also has worked as an LA magazine art director, casting talent ranging from "Desperate Housewives" star Eva Longoria to a Barker's Beauty game show model in cover and story-driven photo shoots that he's produced and art directed.
In this capacity, he also redesigned LA-based lifestyle and entertainment magazines, worked extensively with celebrity publicists, photographers and stylists, and scouted and negotiated studio, coastal and home locations for shooting throughout California.
Chris pitched E! their (in)famous "True Hollywood Story" on "Three's Company" in 1998. The network's first documentary to center exclusively on the backstage life of a TV show, this two-hour THS extensively featured Chris's on-screen interview, and led to NBC’s high-rated "Behind the Camera" telefilm (and subsequent franchise) that also relied heavily on Mann's authoritative research. In March 2002, EW reported NBC was adapting Chris' book for their MOW. Chris served as the film's consulting producer.
John Ritter and Joyce DeWitt strongly endorsed Chris and "Come and Knock on Our Door" in numerous interviews on news and entertainment series such as "Entertainment Tonight," "The O'Reilly Factor," "Extra," "Inside Edition," "TV Guide’s Truth Behind the Sitcom Scandals," "Donny and Marie" and "The E! True Hollywood Story."
Chris maintained contact with Ritter until the sitcom star’s tragic death in 2003. In October 2004, USA Weekend reported Chris had a book about Ritter's life "in the works."
Mann also wrote liner notes and provided audio commentaries saluting Ritter and co-star Don Knotts' comic contributions on the recent "Company" DVDs.
A behind-the-scenes expert on retro TV, game shows and Hollywood's glamorous facades, Chris is developing multiple media projects. |
